Aki Gormezano is a Michael Smith Health Research BC Award Trainee at the University of Northern British Columbia in the School of Health Sciences. He is also affiliated with the University of Victoria and BC Centre for Excellence in HIV/AIDS. He does community-based health equity research focused on novel approaches to STI treatment, prevention, and care for marginalized communities with a focus on gay, bisexual, and other queer men; people who participate in group sex; and racialized sexual minorities. He completed his doctoral training at Queen’s University in the department of psychology where he focused on intraindividual differences in sexuality across contexts.
